More than just a historical account exemplifying Muhammad (ص)'southward leadership prowess, this volume functions as an instructive guide for both the lay reader and the aspiring leader. Each affiliate recounts aspects of Muhammad (ص)'south life—his boyhood, adulthood and prophethood—providing a simplified however well-rounded picture of his earthly life and the training of his mission. His leadership qualities are compared to that of other prominent historical figures. Each chapter is concluded with a "central points" section, recapping the qualities a skilful leader should possess.
The volume did go a fleck repetitive at times and though the tangents near figures from other faiths/traditions were insightful, I would've liked more detail solely on the Messenger (ص). That beingness said, it is still very much an uplifting read and supplements other seerah books quite well as it provides an astute focus on a significant aspect of the Messenger (ص)'due south prophetic disposition. A great read for all regardless of creed and simple enough (imo) for teens.
Be mindful that the writer does posit personal thoughts/reflections regarding certain aspects of the Messenger (ص)'s life. It'southward interesting to observe the high esteem with which some not-Muslims hold the Messenger (ص), despite defective the depth and reverence Muslims hold.

I establish this book very impressive, and concise. John Adair did a really good job in collating some of the most of import points near leadership and using the prophet equally a fine instance. It was really interesting reading the stories of Muhammad (pbuh) and highlighting all the positive leadership aspects, even more so was the fact that things that practical thousands of years ago however apply today.A lot of the points fabricated in the book are things that all of united states of america know and should be acting upon, however it'due south always proficient to remind yourself of these things and then take it as a refresher, if anything. This book will definitely indicate whatsoever aspiring leader to the correct management, in fact, even parents could learn a lot from this volume.
I finished reading information technology in i sitting, and walked away feeling inspired. One of the points that resonated with me most was the thought of leading by example, something that is truly lacking today.
Very well written book, in clear, simple English. I can guarantee yous there are many lessons to draw from this read and it is well worth the money spent on information technology.

Most facts and narrations are backed up with re An invaluable resource that focuses on how the Prophet Mohammed's (s) upbringing in Bedouin Arabia prepared him to take upward the leadership position ordained by God. It goes through his central characteristics demonstrating his capability as a leader, relaying stories and narrations that some Muslims may be less familiar with. I personally found it fascinating. It'south a straightforward, short read, written from a non-Muslim, Leadership Studies perspective.
Most facts and narrations are backed up with references, merely there are a few remarks fabricated in passing which were questionable, and where the author doesn't make an effort to land differences in opinion amidst Islamic scholars. For instance, ane of the lines state it is strange that the Prophet didn't appoint a successor. Despite this, there is a skillful range of quotes included, from Nahjul Balagha to Ibn Khuldun. ...more than

The volume is brusque and low-cal, however, i don't think the 90% focusing on the leadership of Prophet Muhammad. Sometime, I find the author got the chance to mention other stories that's is non related, yes it is related to leadership concept but not under the leadership of Muhammad.
I thought the volume bailiwick should exist change to something more than generic like The leadership of Muhammad and other Arabs/leaders Maybe.
Notwithstanding, the book is proficient :)

Withal, the book is good :)

Attending one such workshop arranged by ICAP, I got some recommendations for books to read. I being 'The Messenger: The Meanings of the Life of Muhammad' by Tariq Ramadan. Tried to locate that in Library, but information technology was borrowed by someone else for the time being. While searching I came across this book, which was fortunately bachelor for borrowing.
A pocket-size book of 120 pages, covers unlike aspects of Prophet'south life and what leadership lessons ane tin get from Prophet. The book has some beautiful parts including much discussed aspect that 'each prophet worked as a shepherd in his life'. The role of shepherd for herd and its linkage with leadership styles has been explained in a disarming way. At that place are some parts in the book like a long affiliate on camel and its utility in desert life, which has nothing to do with the topic, but it does not bore you.

Overall in my opinion I would strongly suggest anyone to read a full biography of Muhammad (PBUH) prior to reading this book (the author does provide a short Biography at the terminate of the book simply that wasn't enough). Secondly, this volume is a adept read every bit it does highlight a lot of incidents during the Meccan and Medina era and too gives an idea about the bedouin life of the arabs, just it may not be worth purchasing it in order to empathise the leadership of the Prophet(PBUH).
I would rate this book with two stars.

As mentioned at the beginning by the write
"The Leadership of Muhammad" past John Adair focuses mainly on qualities that an ideal leader should have giving references from the Prophet (SAW)'south life. I personally think some of the nigh important leadership events from the Prophet (SAW)'south life were missing from this book. The decisions he took during crucial times, for instance, the Hudaybiyyah Treaty and the manner he united the Arabs in difficult conditions despite the hardships were as well not touched. As mentioned at the beginning by the writer, this book is by no means a biography of the Prophet Muhammad (SAW). I admire the writer's honesty well-nigh admitting his limitations nigh the topic. Its a good feel to learn about the Prophet Muhammad (SAW)'southward life from the pen of someone who tries to objectively analyze his leadership qualities without having a religious attachment to him. I liked the volume overall, but found it very primitive, without an intellectual touch..

I believe that life Most inspiring part is relating the art of shepherding to the leadership and it's impact on the life of Muhammad (P.B.U.H). Interestingly i had a chance of meeting a person familiar with shepherding while reading the book, i was amazed to know that often sheepherders even have names for each and every sheep and they exactly know the strengths and weakness of every individual. The important lesson for leadership while seeing the bigger film never forget the private needs.
I believe that life Muhammad (P.B.U.H) lived is a practical guide for each every individual, andThe Leadership of Muhammad has continued mod day leadership with the wisdom.
I volition say that this book was well researched and well written. ...more
